Synnapex Inc., a leading provider of technology professional services and hardware solutions, is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Junior Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing data entry, and supporting various accounting functions to ensure compliance with accounting standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Financial Record Maintenance

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Ensure financial records are stored in an organized manner.

Data Entry and Reconciliation

  • Perform data entry, reconciliation, and verification of financial transactions.
  • Process journal entries and ensure accounts tie to source documents.
  • Balance bank accounts and review transactions for exceptions.

Accounts Payable and Receivable

  • Keep track of all payments and invoices pending for payments, ensuring invoices are paid according to terms.
  • Post bills (contractor, service, etc.) and expenses.
  • Create and send invoices to customers as requested by the PMO.
  • Post received payments and record on commission reports.

Accounting Software Utilization

  • Utilize accounting software (currently QuickBooks) to create purchase orders (PO) and sales orders (SO).
  • Perform credit card reconciliation and post transactions in QuickBooks.

Financial Reporting and Support

  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts and projections.
  • Support the finance team in month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist with daily operations, balance sheet integrity, and reconciliation.

Routine Tasks

  • Daily: Post bills and expenses, send vendor bills to Inside Sales, record invoices on commission reports, create POs and SOs, and perform credit card reconciliation.
  • Weekly: Report the bank balance to the Manager.
  • Monthly: Perform bank reconciliations.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software, particularly QuickBooks.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.

LOCATION

This position is based in-person at our office in Richmond HIll, ON.
